Port Strikes Update

The strike at Rotterdam’s lashing companies has come to an end following mediation by several industry bodies. Discussions will continue this week to reach a lasting agreement.

Port operations have restarted, but congestion and delays remain. Terminals and shipping lines are coordinating vessel handling, and schedule changes or vessel diversions may still occur. Some terminals are also temporarily limiting the acceptance of empty containers.

In Antwerp, the situation remains unchanged as the strike continues. BTS Logistics continues to monitor developments in both ports closely and will update customers when new information becomes available.

Friday, 20 October 2025 – Antwerp Strike Temporarily Suspended

The strike at the Port of Antwerp has been temporarily suspended until 24 October. Operations remain affected as the port works through a significant backlog, with around 100 vessels waiting to enter and 60 to depart. Delays are still expected in the coming days.
