For products covered by the EUDR, compliance information must be ready before the customs process begins.
A Due Diligence Statement (DDS) reference number or declaration identifier must be available before the customs declaration for a relevant import is submitted. Missing information could delay clearance and disrupt planned deliveries.
What does this mean for your business?
Check whether your product codes fall within the scope of the EUDR and determine which information must be obtained from suppliers. This may include origin, production, and geolocation data, as well as evidence that goods are legally produced and deforestation-free.
The regulation covers cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soy, wood and various derived products.
The requirements will apply from:
- December 30, 2026: large and medium-sized operators
- December 30, 2026: micro and small operators already covered by the EU Timber Regulation
- June 30, 2027: other micro and small operators
